Samsung Galaxy S9 Unveiling Date Announced
After much anticipation, it was finally announced that the new Samsung Galaxy S9 would be unveiled next month. This announcement for an early unveiling shocked many as the previous Galaxy versions, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and S8, were only released in April of 2017. The S9 phone details have not yet been revealed. However, there have been rumors that Samsung will release a foldable phone in 2018. We will have to wait and see whether the foldable phone will be the Galaxy S9 or another one.
The First In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
A new milestone in cell phone technology: an on-display fingerprint sensor. So far, most phone fingerprint scanners have been placed on the back. Now, Vivo’s cell phone has introduced the future of phone fingerprint scanning. This technology works by using Vivo’s Synaptics optical sensor to scan through phone pixel gaps. Over the next year, expect other cell phone brands to start using this new technological advancement.

Moto Mod Keyboard
At CES 2018, Motorola revealed its Moto Mod Keyboard that will be available for purchase in April. This full slider keyboard can attach to the back of any Moto Mod compatible device. This is great for anyone who needs to do some quick work on the go. This new cell phone tech was originally created by Livermorium and won Indiegogo’s Transform The Smartphone Challenge.
New “Raspberry Rose” LG V30 Color
LG is upping up its game by introducing a new phone color, Raspberry Rose. It has added this color to its LG V30 smartphone. Their Raspberry Rose color is a combination of magenta and fuchsia. This phone is also available in blue, silver purple, and black.
New Asus & Huawei Cell Phones Coming To The U.S.
Asus and Huawei announced some of their new phones will be available for sale in the United States. Asus’s ZenFone Max Plus will be available for purchase beginning in February. This smartphone is most notable for being the first Asus phone to have Face Unlock technology. Huawei’s View 10 and Honor 7X smartphones will also be coming to the U.S. in 2018, no date has been confirmed yet.
Razer Phone: Project Linda
Razer’s Project Linda is something that has never been done before. They have created a laptop that allows people to dock their Razer cell phone into it. The cell phone can also serve as a trackpad for the laptop. The target audience for this feature is gamers and photographers. There is still a question of whether this laptop will be put on the market.
